Building and Development Update

Partners and staff at Hucclecote and Brockworth Surgeries are extremely disappointed that proposals to move to new premises at Whittle Square have fallen through.

A huge amount of work had gone in to taking these plans forward including significant engagement with community partners, planners, developers and patient representatives. However, recently the unfortunate decision was taken by the land owners that they would not sell the land to the combined surgeries of Brockworth and Hucclecote. The reason given by the land owners was that additional payments relating to highways, Special Area of Conservation mitigation, libraries and education and an already high Community Infrastructure Levy charge made selling the land not economically viable

The opportunity for the two surgeries to move into a new, modern health facility was highlighted in NHS Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) Primary Care Infrastructure Plan in 2016 and this remains an absolute priority.

Both practices remain committed to providing the best possible care to their patients, and will continue to look for premises that are suitable for providing modern healthcare, and that will support patients to retain their independence and to stay healthy.
